Kohlrabi patties, boiled potatoes with chives, garlic dressing

This light and tasty vegetarian dish combines the crispiness of patties with the softness of potatoes and the spiciness of garlic. The result is a perfect harmony of flavors.

Ingredients for 4 servings

Kohlrabi Patties

  • 500 g kohlrabi
  • 1 medium-sized onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 60 ml whipping cream (33%)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 eggs (added for better consistency)
  • 4 tablespoons plain flour (added for better consistency)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (added for flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying

Side Dish

  • 200 g peeled potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives
  • A pinch of salt

Garlic Dressing

  • 60 ml whipping cream (33%)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of pepper

Procedure

  1. Peel and finely grate the kohlrabi. Lightly salt and let it sit for a while. Then drain the excess water.
  2. Add finely chopped onion, nutmeg, cream, salt, pepper, eggs, flour, and parsley to the grated kohlrabi. Mix everything thoroughly.
  3. Shape the prepared mixture into patties.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the patties on both sides until golden brown. If necessary, finish them in an oven preheated to 180°C for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, peel and cut the potatoes and cook them in salted water until soft.
  6. Prepare the garlic dressing: mix the cream with pressed garlic, salt, and pepper.
  7. Drain the cooked potatoes, sprinkle them with chopped chives, and mix lightly.
  8. Serve the kohlrabi patties with boiled potatoes with chives and garlic dressing.
